Island Profile
Urin Kula (Ninepin Rock) is a volcanic outcrop that is used by Traditional Owners as a fishing place and a rest stop during voyages between Waiben (Thursday Island) and Wug (St Pauls). We sustainably fish many of the marine resources in its surrounding waters including witi (coral trout), bilar (parrotfish), oysters and kabar (trochus). The waters around Urin Kula are also used by commercial fishers.
